How Much Does a Custom Jingle Cost? What You Get at $750, $1,950 and $3,900
What a custom business jingle costs, what to ask any seller before you pay, and exactly what our $750, $1,950 and $3,900 packages include.
Quick answers
- How much does a custom jingle cost?
- Prices vary widely depending on who makes it, how long it is and what rights you get. Ours are fixed: $750, $1,950 or $3,900, paid once, plus sales tax where it applies.
- Is there a monthly fee or royalty?
- Not with us. You pay once and can use the song everywhere for as long as you like. With any seller, ask this before you agree to anything.
- Do I pay up front?
- With us, no. You don't pay until you've seen the result, and if you don't want it, you owe nothing.
If you've ever asked around about a jingle for your business, you've probably heard prices that were all over the map, or no price at all until after a "discovery call." It's hard to budget for something when nobody will tell you what it costs.
This post lays out what drives the price of a custom jingle, the questions to ask anyone you're thinking of hiring, and exactly what our three packages cost and include.
Why jingle prices vary so much
Prices for custom jingles vary widely from one seller to the next. A few things usually explain the difference:
- Length. A 30-second jingle is a different job from a 2-minute or 4-minute song.
- What comes with it. Just the audio, or a video too? One video or several sizes for different places?
- Rights. Can you use it anywhere, forever, or only in certain places or for a set time? Is there a yearly renewal?
- Changes. How many rounds of changes are included, and what does an extra round cost?
- Extras. Is a thumbnail, captions or a separate radio version included, or billed on top?
Two prices can look far apart and turn out closer once you compare what's actually included, or the other way around.
Questions to ask before you pay anyone
Whoever you talk to, get clear answers to these in writing:
- What is the total price, including tax and any fees?
- Is it paid once, or is there a monthly or yearly charge?
- Where am I allowed to use it, and for how long?
- How many rounds of changes are included?
- Will I hear the song and approve the words before the video is made?
- Do I pay before or after I see the finished result?
- Is the song written new for my business, or adapted from something else?
- What files will I get, and in what sizes?
A seller who answers all of these plainly is one you can work with.
Our three packages, side by side
Our prices are fixed and posted, so you can compare them with anything else you're offered.
The Jingle, $750. Our smallest package, for a business that wants a short, catchy song with its name and number in it.
- A 30-second song with your business's name, what it does and its phone number.
- A vertical video for Facebook, Instagram and TikTok, with captions.
- A thumbnail.
- The song as an MP3, ready for radio or on-hold.
Good for: plumbers, roofers, salons, restaurants, any local business that mostly needs people to remember its name and number.
The Story, $1,950. Everything in The Jingle, plus:
- A 2-minute song that tells your business's story: the problem your customers have, how you fix it and why folks trust you.
- A widescreen video for your website and YouTube.
Good for: a business whose work is hard to explain in one line, like radon mitigation, solar, financial planning or a specialty trade, and anyone who wants something for the top of their website.
The Milestone, $3,900. Everything in The Story, plus:
- A 4-minute song about how your business started and grew.
- Three 15-second ads for the big day.
Good for: anniversaries, annual meetings, homecomings and grand openings. Co-ops, churches, family businesses turning 25 or 50 or 100.
What's the same in every package
- Fixed price, paid once, plus sales tax where it applies. No monthly fee.
- Use it everywhere, for as long as you like: Facebook, Instagram, your website, ads, local TV, radio, on-hold music and events.
- Written new for your business. No copies of famous songs and no imitating a real singer. Nobody has to be on camera or sing.
- You hear the song and okay every word before the video is made.
- Two rounds of changes included.
- You don't pay until you've seen the result. If you don't want it, you owe nothing.
