Business Anniversary Post Ideas: What to Post the Month Before, the Day Of and After
Business anniversary post ideas with ready-to-copy examples for the month before, the day of and the week after, plus a staff work anniversary post.
Quick answers
- What should I say in a business anniversary social media post?
- Say how long you have been open, thank the people who got you here by name where you can, and share one real memory or photo. Keep it short and end with a thank-you, not a sales pitch.
- How many anniversary posts should I make?
- Spread a handful over about five weeks: one or two a week in the month before, one on the day, and one or two after to say thank you and share photos.
- How do I write a work anniversary post for my business page?
- Name the employee, say how many years and what they do, add one specific thing customers know them for, and ask them first if a photo is okay.
Your anniversary is coming up and you know you should post something, but staring at a blank Facebook box is no fun. Most business anniversary post ideas you find are one generic line with a balloon picture, and that won't stop anybody's thumb.
Here is what to post the month before, the day of and the week after, with ready-to-copy examples. Swap in your own details wherever you see brackets.
The month before: build up to the day
The weeks before are for stories and photos. You are reminding people of the date and getting them to remember why they like you.
- An old photo. The storefront, the first truck, the founder behind the counter.
- How it started. Two or three sentences about the first year.
- A question. Ask customers to share a memory. Questions get comments.
- Meet the team. One employee at a time, with a short line about each.
- The date. Every post should say when the celebration is.
Example: old photo post
This is [Your business] in [year], the week we opened. [Founder's name] painted that sign by hand. [Number] years later we're still on [street name], and we're celebrating on [date]. Come see the old photos in person.
Example: memory question
We turn [number] this month. Do you remember your first visit to [Your business]? Tell us in the comments. We will share a few of them before the big day on [date].
Example: how it started
[Number] years ago, [founder's name] borrowed a truck and started [Your business] with [one detail, like "one ladder and a lot of nerve"]. Thank you to [town] for keeping us busy ever since. Join us [date] at [time] for [coffee, cake, a cookout].
The day of: one clear post
On the day, keep it short. People are scrolling fast and you want them to see three things: how many years, thank you, and what is happening today.
Example: anniversary day post
Today [Your business] turns [number]. Thank you to every customer, neighbor and employee who got us here. Stop by today from [time] to [time] for [what's happening]. We'd love to shake your hand.
Example: if you are not holding an event
[Number] years ago today we opened our doors on [street name]. We're still here because of you, [town]. Thank you for every call, every visit and every referral.
Pin the day-of post on your page so anyone who visits sees it first. If you have a video, the day of is the time to post it.
The week after: say thank you and show the photos
The posts after the day are the ones most businesses forget, and they are often the ones people share.
- Group photo from the event, with an invitation to tag themselves.
- A thank-you to everyone who came, helped or brought food.
- One customer story you collected, with their okay.
Example: thank-you post
Thank you to everyone who came out Saturday to help us celebrate [number] years. Special thanks to [names of helpers or local businesses]. Find yourself in the photos and tag your friends.
Work anniversary posts for your business page
A work anniversary post for a business is one of the easiest posts to write and one of the warmest. Customers like knowing the people who help them. Ask the employee first, then keep it specific.
Example: employee work anniversary
Happy [number]-year anniversary to [employee's name]. If you've ever [specific thing they do, like "called about a furnace on a Sunday night"], you've probably talked to [first name]. Thank you for everything you do, [first name].
Example: owner's own anniversary
[Number] years ago I [opened the shop, took over from Dad, bought my first truck]. I didn't know what I was doing, but this town gave me a chance. Thank you for [number] good years.
A few tips for all of these:
- Use a real photo over a stock graphic every time.
- Keep it under five lines. Long posts get skipped.
- Answer every comment during the first day. People notice.
- Don't end every post with a sale. Thank people first.
